Directamente desde el Reino Unido nos llegó hace algún tiempo atrás, este Ep de The Obscene, formados en el 2010, bajo el nombre de Salute to the Sun.
Pest Records pequeño sello inglés, que tuvo la amabilidad y gentileza de enviarnos este trabajo, fué el encargado de fichar a la banda.
Basicamente The Obscene ejecuta un oscuro y blasfemo Death Metal a lo vieja escuela, donde tambien incluyen elementos cercanos al Black, que hacen su estilo bien particular.
Death Metal directo y sin tapujos, que no busca virtuosismo ó tecnicidad, tal y como nació este género.
The Storm to Come es la intro, que abre esta macabra muestra de blasfemia, destacando temas como : Embrace Oblivion, Grim Discovery, Beyond the Hold of God.
Además The Obscene decidió incluir su Ep del año 2008 Destroying The Heavens, editado en esa ocasión como Salute to the Sun, tal como mencionara al inicio de la presente revisión, dónde se puede notar alguna diferencia en la mezcla del sonido comparándola con las nuevas composiciones, dejando ver atisbos más melódicos y con toques black, cabe destacar que su baterista Chris Newby formó parte de la banda de culto Morstice, banda de culto recientemente reeditada por Compilation of Death,'Zine chilena.
Conclusión Old School Death Metal blasfemo, de buena factura, como saben hacer los ingleses.

Straight from the UK it arrived some months ago, this Ep from the band “The Obscene”, formed in 2010 under the name Salute to the Sun. Pest Records, a small English label, who had the consideration and courtesy to send this work, was in charge of signing this band.
The Obscene basically mixes a dark and blasphemous old school death metal, also including a few Black Metal elements, due to their very particular style. Death Metal in your face just as this genre was born, not looking for too much virtuosity or technique.
The track “The Storm to Come” is the intro, which opens this macabre show of blasphemy, and the highlighting acts as well as: Embrace Oblivion, Grim Discovery, Beyond the Hold of God.
The Obscene decided also to include their 2008 Ep called “Destroying the Heavens”, released as Salute to the Sun, where you can hear the difference in the sound mixing, comparing it to their new compositions and revealing glimpses from more melodic black parts. Last but not least, their drummer Chris Newby was part of the cult band Morstice, recently reissued by the Chilean Zine: Compilation of Death.
To sum up, impious Old School Death Metal, as the English are used to deliver it.
